Common questions
How much should I tip?
In the US, 15–20% is customary for table service; 20% is the common baseline. Tip on the pre-tax amount or post-tax — both are accepted.
Should I tip on tax?
It is optional — etiquette guides accept tipping on the pre-tax subtotal, though many people simply tip on the total.
How do we split uneven orders?
This tool splits evenly, which works for shared meals. For uneven orders, have each person tip on their own subtotal.
